Get a Jumpstart on Your Fall Fitness

As summer fades and the season starts to shift from summer fun to fall routine, we give all my clients the same speech. And we are going to give it to you today too:

you’ve got 3 good months of fitness left for the entire year - make them count!

We like to think of September and October as the second wave of “New Years resolution” months. You’ve spent all summer soaking up the sun, indulging at the backyard BBQ’s, saying yes to ice cold seltzers at outdoor concerts. Chances are you’re reading this with a great tan but not-so-great summer gut and craving some consistency!

Now is the time to get back on track, recommit to those 2024 goals and set a plan to do the work before the holidays set in. You’ve got 12 weeks until Thanksgiving and we promise if you commit to a big push now, you’ll see the results, and can then maintain and cruise all the way through the holidays.

Here are our top tips for getting the most out of the next few months and getting real results:

1. Commit to your workout schedule.

  • Sit down and figure out how many days a week you’re working out now and COMMIT to getting at least one more. Are you getting 1-2/week now? Shoot for 3. Then map out your month and figure out exactly when that’s going to happen. Is it Tuesday/Thursday at 4pm? Are you going to be gone for a weekend and need to adjust days. Do it now, write it on your calendar and do everything you can to make it happen. What’s the saying? “Failing to plan is planning to fail”??

2. Pick ONE habit to go all in on.

  • We’re not a huge fan of all or nothing but there’s certain times in the year that a kick in the pants to going cold turkey is exactly what you need to stay focused and now is that time. Sweet tooth got you this summer? Cut out sugar for 30 days. Needing to manage stress better? Commit to a daily meditation practice. Whatever it is, make sure it’s doable and you can commit to it 100% for 30 days. It’s amazing what it will do for your self-confidence!

3. Find healthy recipes to keep you on track.

  • Again, we are not a fan of making your life harder. But, with the consistency that naturally comes in the fall, it’s a great time to focus on finding healthy recipes or food prepping to make staying on track easier. This month we’ll be sending out a new recipe every week from our 3 week Jumpstart Meal Plan to inspire you!

Here’s what we’re cooking up this week:

Banana Bread Muffins

Prep Time: 20-25 mins Cook Time: 20-25 mins Servings: 12 muffins

Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe bananas

  • 1/2 cup greek yogurt

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tbs. almond milk

  • 1 cup almond meal

  • 2 tbs. honey more maple syrup

  • 4 scoops vanilla whey protein powder

  • 1 tbs. baking soda

  • 2 tbs. chia seeds

  • 1/4 cup broken up pecan pieces

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Mix all dry ingredients in medium bowl. In a large bowl, mash bananas and mix in all wet ingredients.

  2. Slowly add dry ingredients too wet and mix thoroughly.

  3. Spray muffin tin and pour in batter.

  4. Bake for 20‐25 minutes.

  5. Let cool & store in plastic bags in servings of 2 muffins.
